Anyone loading 150s in the 7 SAUM or 280 AI with '26?

Does reloader 26 actually exist? I have been looking for some for 150's in my 270 win, and cant find any in my neck of the woods.

aceman2101,

Where are you in Montana? I've purchased all of mine from stores in Helena and Big Timber. In fact I was in the Helena store last week and they had some, but I didn't buy it since have enough for a while.

In my limited experience RL26 works better with heavy bullets in a given caliber. I loaded some Hornady 154 Interlocks for my 280AI and didn't get any better velocity or accuracy than using H4831. My buddies 280AI cut with the same reamer shot 160's and 175 bullets much better and had good velocity using RL26.

Berger data showed 26 as giving highest velocity with a 140 in the 6.5 Creedmoor.

The 280 Remington is overbore.

That's what I'm thinking but I believe I'll give it a tray anyway.

Aceman201, I gave up and ordered some R26 from Grafs, If you order enough powder then the Hazmat fee is a wash compared to local GS prices per lb.. At least it is here.

What kind of speeds are you looking for? I'm shooting 160 grain Accubonds in my 7 SAUM with a 22" barrel. Magpro(half a grain below book max) gives me 2930fps. IMR4350(at book max) gives me around 2850fps. RL22 is right there with these powders, velocity, wise. Accuracy is great with all of these powders.

It is a LITTLE bit faster than RL25. My data shows 1-2 grains LESS than RL25

Thanks. Do you mean 1-2 grains less than R25 to get the same velocity with 150s in the 7 SAUM?

I'd like to get at least 3,000 with the 150 Scenars. I can get excellent accuracy and 3050+ with IMR 7977 (23" bbl) but there's no "book" data and the load appears a little hot.

That speed with the 150's seems doable. I can push a 168 Berger at 2950 using 60.5 grs of RL26

Just seeing RL-26 for 140s in the 260... Did I miss it?

RL26, 6.5 Creedmoor, 2977 with the 135 Classic Hunter... G7 .303. That oughta work.

I worked up some 26 loads for 150 grain BT's in my AI. Had good results, but it didn't beat out my rifle's preferred load using RL-19. Worked jam up for me with my 270 and 150 grain NF's though.
