I'd pick W760 for both weights or.......
120gn = Varget & H4895 130gn = W760 140gn = H4350

I'm using 130 grain with IMR 4064 and 140 grain with H414.

Varget or H414(Win760). H4350 should be about the same as H414 but I've never used it in the 7mm08 but have in the 243.

I've used 29-40 grains of H4895 with 120-139 gr bullets and have not had a group over 7/8" in my daughter's model 7. Speeds were close to Hogden estimates. I'm done looking for anything else for this rifle.

You've got the know winners already. I'm going to get going on RL-16 in mine when life slows down here in a few weeks. If accuracy is as good as the listed velocities, it'll be a winner.

I've used a lot of Big Game for those weight bullets but lately I've been using IMR 4166 which seems to have potential.
What would Porter Rockwell do?

I started with H-414 until I found Varget (for 140 Sierra PH's). Sub-MOA now.

My impression from all this is that like the .308, there are a pile of powders that will deliver accuracy and velocity in this case.

Thanks... Pete 47.5 grains Big Game, 140 Partition, WLRM, Remington brass, 2.805" Top rifle was a Superlite, bottom was a straight T3 Lite SS. Used the Lite SS this year to kill a mulie buck at 541 yards. The bullet destroyed both lungs and exited. Recovery distance was about a foot and a half. P

Thank You, Pharmsellar...!!!!!! Be careful what you wish for, I'm one of the biggest 7mm-08 fans at the campfire. Same load, this bull at 346 yards This bull at 68 yards, not much of a test Both bucks. Good forkies, both taken at over 540 yards This buck at 150 or so Swap the Partition out for an Accubond, all else equal, you get this at 225 yards Nothing shot more than once. P
