Thought that was called a 222 Remington Mag? About the same difference as a 7mm JRS compared to 280 Improved

Thought that was called a 222 Remington Mag? It is.......if you consider a case body with less taper, a sharper shoulder, and said shoulder blown forward .075" the same......

Picture on brass box, looks like a 22x57 - 6mm Rem, Creedmoor 30 Improved
Drawing on AS looks like .22-6.8SPC
Speculation is rife !

Picture looks like a 22x57 - 6mm Rem, Creedmoor 30 Improved Too big.....57mm = 2.244" I'm guessing a 6 Hagar necked down. Claim is 70's at 3300.

You mean do the .22-250 Improved all over again?

The Creedmoor is even more Improved with a .462" shoulder diameter vice .454" for the AI. Angle is 30 degrees vice 40. So it is the .22-250 Creedmoor Improved 30 Should add that this isn't that

338Rules,
I didn't say .22-250 Ackley Improved, I said .22-250 Improved. The Creedmoor case is so close to the old .22-250 RCBS Improved (which had a 28-degree shoulder) that a .22 Creedmoor just might fit in the chamber, with all the attendant problems of varying chamber and, especially, throat dimensions.
Sometimes that causes factories to back off from standardizing certain wildcats, and sometimes it doesn't.

As usual you are spot on, John. The RCBS Improved 28 degree shoulder is awfully close to the current 30 degrees that is in vogue. My main point was the extra shoulder diameter of .462" in the Creedmoor shoulder geometry, which in turn contributes to the case volume. Happy New Year !

I'm guessing that it is a necked down Hagar.
"The 6mm HAGAR was derived from the 30 Remington and it has the same case head diameter as the 6.8 SPC, also a 30 Remington derivative."
Thus, a necked down 6.8SPC by most accounts, though the Hagar case is a decent bit longer than the SPC.

Yes it sure does...I wonder if it will do what a .223AI will do?
