It's a rumor, but from people in the know, that it will likely be about 5 weeks to be put back up. Apparently, they had a good insurance plan and the manufacturer is up here now to help.

We had to do this about 3 or 4 years ago. It was brutal!

The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.

I imagine it was! The boys play a very physical and aggressive game, and their coach runs them hard, so they'll be trashed.

Also it would be a shame to see it compressed because it seems to take about 1/2 of the normal season for the kids the start playing together as a team. Then the second 1/2 of the season they really get rolling. I just don't see the teamwork developing in a compressed schedule.

My bosses son graduated from South last year. He played varsity for four years and on a comp team that won Nationals. That extra time in the dome no doubt helped that group of kids excel and helped him get a scholarship to play college soccer. If they don't put it back up it will be a major disadvantage to the local players for many reasons.

think we have two artificial fields now, but believe that's all folks.

Does it matter? WV is the killer teams?
If you consider that over half of their wins in conference come against smaller 3A schools I guess you could say that. They don't look so "killer" when they get down to Anchorage and go up against South, Service, Dimond, etc. What would also really be nice for soccer is to have separate 4A and 3A state tournaments like most of the rest of the HS sports do. We've brought it up to ASAA in the past, but they never seemed too interested in it.

Truthfully, that was a bit tongue-in-cheek knowing their Fbx record vs state comps. In fact, I was surprised that there are few enough teams in FNSB that there really is no Region tournament like elsewhere in the state.

I do understand the desire for separation based on school size. It would be great for swimming and diving too. Even more impressive when a smaller school lie Soldotna or Kodiak can win state in swimming/diving.

GIRLS soccer is what surprises me every season by their aggressive play. Amazing the stuff they do without any cards pulled.

Kenai boys last year had their best season ever. Beat Colony in reg season play, again to win Regions, and a third time in game one at state, finishing in third. Amazing ASAA gets away with "randomly" lol, favoring Anch teams in the state bracket.

Hope the dome can back up soon, A lot of action there.
