Definitely, not directed at you but can you blame her? This joint went to heck for a short while there. And then of course there was the……well NM!!

Enjoy the soup gents!!

As you said, byc, this place has it's ups, and downs.
We should, as they used to say, "Accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative."
I am lost on "NM". But, I am lost a lot!

NM=never mind. I was going to dive into subject matter directed at people missing but not pertinent to the OP.

Sorry for the diversion.

I'm trying to follow the Low Carb/High Fat/Moderate Protein diet. Down 35 lbs in 7 months. The Wife bakes cakes as a hobby so it can be a struggle. Just remember Cauliflower is your friend and can be substituted or incorporated into many recipes.

My spiral cut ham was honey cured, which is heavy with carbs, but had to be eaten up, so I used it for soup.

I'm still down 13 lbs. for the last month, and will be using un-cured meat for my future soups.

Next on the list, is a Beef, broth, Cauliflower, Chinese Cabbage soup.

I'm a "soupy" kind of guy!

Any good "hints" or ideas on this one???

Thanks! Virgil B.

I lost 50 lbs doing the no carb diet. Most importantly I've kept it off.

mathman;
Good advice!

I might need to spend lots of time out on the front porch, guarding my bird feeder after eating some of this soup, hoping for a breeze! (GRIN!)

Got soup made last night, and will eat some later today.

Seems soup is usually best after setting over night.

I used;

2 lbs beef roast, diced and browned

3 cans beef broth

1 onion, diced

1/2 head Chinese Cabbage, diced

1/2 head Cauliflower, diced

2 Jalapeno peppers, diced

1/2 green bell pepper, diced

1/2 Zucchini, diced

1 Tbsp. black pepper

2 Tbsp. green Tabasco

2 Tbsp. Tapatio

Hope it's worth eating!

I ate some of my soup last night.

It was pretty darn good with a "dollop" of sour creme it it!

Tasted kind of like a Borsch. It didn't even gas me up much! (GRIN!)

I added up the carbs in my soup, and it came up to 18 for the whole pot.

So, I'm thinking about 5 carbs per bowel with a spoon full of sour creme.

I ate a total of 19 carbs yesterday, and weighted in at 201 lbs. Down one more pound. I slipped up to 202 after eating sugar/honey cured ham. No more of that!

I'm on the right path again!

It's too bad because it was refreshing when she contributed a little pick me up on the Cooking forum.

I believe Miss Lynn is tired of these swine and simply chooses to invest her energy elsewhere.

dirt, right you may well be about Miss Lynn, thinksme.
My time spent on the "fire", may be wasted time, but now, and then I learn a few things.

I have met some nice, kind folks here.

She brought her drama to the cooking section as well as elsewhere here.

I'm not the only one she had issues with. The list is fairly long.
