Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 Aero Precision 300 BLK How do you like the Strike Eagle? I recently picked up two - one for an AR and the other for an M1A. I have them mounted but haven't been able to shoot with them yet...

I've had one of John's risers for a few years now. It is very robust and works well.
Regarding the original question: I have a SWFA 1-4 classic on one AR and a Bushnell LRS 3-12 on another. That power range works well for us for deer, gophers, and targets.

I prefer Nightforce NXS Compact's on scoped AR's. Nightforce, Geissele, and Badger Ordnance make the mounts I would use.

[img:left] [/img] SWFA 6x. Not worried about weight with the heavy 20" barrel but it needs some color. Maybe some FDE or some Desert Tan??

nice John it the scope up higher above the bore than with a std AR scope mount such as LT-104? Depends on the rings used. The riser is 1/2 inch. Leupold high QRWs put the optic 2.850 above bore line.

My home-defense AR (Bushy M4) has a Burris 2-7 Compact on it. Those things have really long eye relief. It works well on there.
My play AR has a 3-9 Conquest w/elevation turret on it.
The CENTER will hold.

Leupold VX-2 1-4. It is in an Aero Precision mount on a BCM lightweight set up. Weight was an overriding concern. 13 ounces total for scope and mount is about as good as it gets. Considered an FX2 2.5, but decided the wider low end was worth it for the three extra ounces.
