Dashboard?

Are you getting a run-a-bout or a fishing boat?

Walk through console. Momma don't like getting hit in the face with spray.Casting platform and trolling motor up front. Four swivel seats behind the console. Kind of a fish and ski configuration.

I had a Crestliner configured like that and it was a compromise for fishing. Big motor and 15 kicker on rear both able to be operated with steering wheel and dual controls from the driver seat plus a 24 volt long shaft electric on front. Was comfortable boat for boarding, skiing, tubing and flat water fishing but very difficult to control in wind when fishing. Sold it when kids grew up and did not want to play with the water toys any longer. Now use my Lund fishing boat with 25 hp motor and an electric trolling motor all over for everything but really big water and waves.

Good luck with yours.

That's why the lund pro-v's and ranger fisherman series are so popular. Theyre dry deep but sit down in the water. They track VERY well even with that windshield to catch the wind.

I'd love to get another Lund but finances dictate otherwise. I don't want to take out a loan, so I've got some more stringent restrictions on what I can get. Going to look at one of the Sylvan's I found this Sunday. Hoping it looks good and follows us home.

Oh Lund Pro-V's are crazy expensive. Especially in this state. A new aluminum one will run you about $35K for a 17.5', $45K for an 18' and $60k for a 20'. If you want a fiberglass Pro-v you're looking at $80k....let that sink in for a minute. crazy

Looking at all these ads, it's really hard for me to go past the bass boats, but I'm in no shape to take up tournament fishing again. I wasn't good enough at it before to make a living, and I don't think it would be any different now. It' sure is tempting to pull the trigger on an old Ranger for $3500.00. Heck that was state of the art stuff back when I fished tournaments.

Well, I bought a new used boat today. '77 Sylvan 16 footer. Walk through windshield, live well, casting platform up front. Lowrance depth finder, Minn Kota foot control trolling motor, bilge put, convertible top (needs canvas replaced). 75 h.p. Johnson. Lots of little projects on it to keep me busy.

Biopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. We'll know more afterwards. Sounds like I might have prostate cancer.

Thanks Steve. Cathy's kept up a good front, but she's as scared about this as I am. I watched my Mom rot for two years from the scourge that is cancer. I don't really want to go down that road.

Makes one go back to their bucket list and start knocking things off just in case. Luckily my list is pretty short. My wife and kids keep me focused and grounded. You guys help a lot around here too.

Thanks, Ryan. Today at 3:00. I'm going in to work for a couple hours this morning, and then just might go buy a new shootin' iron.

Went into work for a little while this morning, but that didn't get my mind off things. Came home and started putzing with the boat. That helped a bit. Man, this is much heavier than my Lund. Really looking forward to getting it on the water.

You'll like that ride better too then Jeff. You're not hitting big water but that heavier boat will make a difference.

Biopsy's done. Results later this week. Really not a big deal outside of being embarassed. It was all done in 20 minutes. They took 12 samples. No pain whatsoever.

Putzed with the boat for a little while when I got home. Seeing what I need/want to fix or change. I put the cover on it, but the cover's pretty well shot. Not a fit cover-a Cabela's generic. Doesn't fit good around the trolling motor or the windshield. No biggie-he never even told me he had one for it, but it's pretty well shot.

The rubber roller up on the front of the trailer needs replaced. I'll have to look the trailer over good the first time I get the boat off it. I'm kind of a nitpicker about the wiring, and see stuff I want to change. 12 volt's easy. It gives me something to work on.
