Thanks to all. Tow behind is still my priority but a couple of the reciever styles have me thinking.

Lots of opinions but fewlinks friends.
Rost495, the vanado site doesn't show any pics when I clicked on their road feeder section.
Thinking at his point to buy an inexpensive model from TSC and cross my fingers.
Motor issues from even the popular brands are fairly consistent.A wheel driven model might be worth looking into. I never saw one either, but a friend that owned a ranch down south turned me onto them. I've not seen another brand that was as good. I don't doubt good ones exist, I simply know that Venado feeders brand has stood up to abuse. I think my first controller had an issue, but other than that, it was fix it on the spot, I think the cig lighter plug in end had an issue, we fixed that, and they sent us a new one in the mail on top of it.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

The venado is steel... not galv flashing type material FWIW. Welded, not riveted or bolted.

I need to see if I can fit that lower unit on my feeder with the burned up motor. I like that. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

Check out Texas Hunter Products, Road Feeder. It's a 100 lb, remote control, heavy duty feeder. You can put it on your vehicle, move to a friends vehicle. I have two of them. It works off a 12 volt deer feeder battery. Has remote like a car alarm. You can hook up to plug also. Had the first one for 5 yrs. I haven't had a problem. If you use a pull behind, more tires on the ground mean more problems, if its muddy, harder to go in mud, harder to turn around too. Just my opinion
If you are in west or south Texas, there will be flat issues. A pull behind will have a different wheel base. Lots cactus, mesquite thorns, those tires will be thin.
