They are nice guns... Bought one shortly after they became available as a replacement for a rifle in a car. More than enough power to get through doors and windshield glass. Also put a .357 SIG barrel in it and use that caliber for a bedroom gun complete with a Streamlight light/laser combo...

But it would make a dandy hunting gun...

Third adjustment and third 2" group. Only problem is it shoots about 12" high at 50 with full power loads so have a taller sight on order.

Shot about a 200 pound feral sow the next day and it went down and right now. I have more expensive semi pistols but none I like better than this so far. After a couple hundred rounds, I am impressed.

GotDamn! Don't think I can shoot a scoped bolt rifle 2"s off hand at 50, I need more range time. shocked

I was shooting much better than usual that day, and if shooting well, shoot a rifle and handgun about the same offhand to 100 yds or so.

My friend walked up and said, you just shot 4" at 50. I did not tell him it was three 3-shot groups with sight adjustments in between each group.

For everything except concealed. I love this gun and have a temptation to do all my in state hunting over the next year with it.

I can conceal it in a concealment garment I found online. They sell shorts and long pants that have concealment pockets. The front pockets are sewn to fall more toward the inside of your leg where the natural hollow is. I carried my G40 like that for a week. I scared the [bleep] out of a customer when I put my hand in my pocket and pulled that G40 out. It does get cumbersome after while, but it's doable if that's what you want to carry.

That is pretty incredible that you can conceal a G40. I am liking my 43 for that and it shoots really well for a small gun, but not nearly as well as the G40. I find the G40 to be really impressive from an accuracy standpoint.

Doubly so at 50 yards.

I am able to do it sometimes but not up to it always. I have in the past also done the same at 100 with 44 Mags but again some days I can and most days I can't and some guns aren't up to it. As I get older, I shoot about the same offhand and off the bench but used to shoot better offhand. I was "on" Saturday in regards to shooting and also hitting a beer can at 50 about one in four times with my compact single stack Glock 9mm (model 43 I think).

It's nothing spectacular but comes from shooting a few hundred thousand rounds offhand from 10 yards to 500 yards starting at a young age. I

Give that man a cyber cigar. Hell give him two- one for fine shooting and one for humility. I've shot some stupid small 50 yard pistol groups in my time, with witnesses, and hit schzit people were shooting at with rifles way beyond that. But I'll be the first to admit I can't do it on demand or, as the internet has taught me, ALL DAY LONG.

I've seen a friend of mine make some crazy shots with a 1911 at a hundred yards.

My experiences doing that are much fewer and farther between.

I've shot a 3 shot group, cloverleaf at 50 yds, using a TC Contender, 30/30, 2x EER, and sandbags.....oh, Factory 150 CLs. Done my share of handgun shooting over the years, but indeed, that is flinch free shooting, and good hand/eye coordination.

FWIW, what sold me on the TC, was another guy at the range who always shot only TCs, Super 14s, in 30/30 and 30 Herrett. One day he asked if I wanted a try at a pop can at the backstop at about 110 yds or so, offhand. I guess my discipline in martial arts paid off, I refused to light the trigger till the sight pic was perfect. 2x scope, barely could see, and the can jumped straight up. A good handgun in good hands/eyes can do wonders.

Good shooting indeed. Good hunting w/that G40, it should serve you well.

Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.
