Not to boondoggle your thread, but you have Pedersoli experience so I will ask. Are you aware of a Lyman type peep that has been used on these? I have seen the "lollipop" style and the Verneer style too. I am used to Lyman and Williams. I am not sure if trying that combo is a sin against a classic firearm.

I struggled with peep sights on this model and my custom Jaeger because the tang is short and does not have much drop. I have sights for a Thompson Hawken including the vernier tang, and the two other Thompson sights, the 719, and 7194. Those options don't fir, and would need a custom adapter, and then the sights would be very high, needing a very high front sight. I also have the Redfield and Williams, and those also don,t fit. So I was left with the Pedersoli lollipop option. The Pedersoli has a micro apereture so the gunsmit is going to drill it out to 1/16 to start. I wish it had replaceable apertures but it is a plate with a hole. I personally don't care about period correctness, but the lollipop is supposed to be correct. I am putting a fiber optic on front, so all that period correct stuff goes out the door for me. I respect the history, but my eyes are going down hill, and my main goal is to flatten deer.
