Gotta get one. A 3" GP-100 44 special. Really need to do this sooner rather than later because I don't think they will be around long. Freaking sweet man.

That's a cool offering. The GP100 is built like a tank so a 44spcl or a 45LC would be worth having....depending on price of course. No doubt it'll need a trigger job. Most GP's have a trigger pull of 50-80 pounds in DA. 😁

That may be a little understated for my old Security Six but as you said, built tank tuff!
The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.
Not much of a CCW gun anyway. The old style with the small grips was ok but when they went to that big grip on them they lost all appeal.
Of course the old style was fix sights and these are adjustable. Adjustable sights are of little use on a CCW gun.
SO I'd say this really wasn't intended for CCW. Heavy with its unfluted cylinder and full under lug. Maybe it would ride well in a shoulder holster or an OWB for a few people but that would be about it.
It's a gun nuts GP, just because we think it's cool.

There has only been a zillion threads about it in the handgun section.
People do know there are other places to read/post outside the Campfire section?
yes but we should reserve this forum for discussions about your stint as a homoerotic sea donkey that mopped jizsz and scraped rust.
Let me guess, you where that 9 year old brat that caught be butt f*cking your mom in early 92. I gave you a candy bar, I guess you still ain't over it.

Very nice, but at 36 oz it's hard to justify over a S&W in .44 Magnum, which can (if you choose) be used strictly as a .44 Special. Not much if any more weight, an extra round in the cylinder, and has the capability (if chosen) to take Magnums too.
Still such a neat gun that it will likely do well, though.
I'd go a 29 of some flavor or a charter in 44 spec.... thats big and heavy for a 44 spec... IMHO.
And Charter Arms has recently brought back their classic Bulldog from the 1970s and 1980s. Of course it's not a tank like the Ruger, and won't soak up recoil like the Ruger, but still a much better carry gun, and better adapted to the .44 Special in terms of size and weight, IMO.

You can post pictures but can't figure out how to post in the right forum?
