encoreb had some ammo for sale and I made an offer. He accepted my offer and PM'd me stating such. Then later he had a better offer and PM'd me and told me he had a better offer and was going to take it. I pm'd him and told him he had offered it to me and should follow through. He pm'd back and said he needed every dollar he could get. I replied that if he sells his integrity and charactet that cheaply then he probably wasn't someone I needed to deal with. Then he said I was being childish. Figure that one out. He jerks me around and I am to blame.

I think if a bargain is struck then you should stick to it. Reminds me of the guy who had a Model 99 for sale and agreed to sell it for a certain amount. Then he decided to sell it to someone else for more. Just not right. A deal is a deal. Your word is a reflection of who you are. I guess I know who encoreb is.

Might want to think about this before you deal with him.

Have had the same thing happen to me in person and it sucks. If it went down like you said then the guys an [bleep] and doesn't deserve to sell anything on here.

I have all the PM's but would rather not post them unless he gets nasty about the whole thing.

JMO but since you didn't lose any money on the deal I wouldn't carry it that far unless he denies it. Let everyone know what happened and it'll be tough for him to sell anything around here.

I did the same thing once on a bird dog. I backed out on a guy that I was going to ship a very nice young gsp to, after I got an offer from someone much closer. Less hassle for me. Well, the guy out of state was understandedly miffed at me. I learned a very valuable lesson there, and I am ashamed to admit it. But your dad-gummed word should be your word - maybe encoreb will get the same message I got. And I am not in the every dollar counts category today (thank the Lord), but I have been there. Don't know the guy from Adam, just saying maybe after this, he'll understand like I have.

This is sour grapes.

Unless you already sent your money to the dude, he had no obligation to you. This guy's mistake was in trying to do right by you, BatMan. He could've just returned your money if it ever arrived.

A seller owes you nothing until you've paid him. Then he owes you prompt delivery of what you were sold.

So you didn't get a "deal of a lifetime". There will be other opportunities. This is not Ebay, with its contrived rules/regs. Why not be a bit more easy going with like-minded guys? Sometimes there are misunderstandings.

When some guy starts hollering about another's lack of integrity, it is usually because his own lack of integrity is rearing its ugly head.

Hogan,

If I tell someone something it is a fact. I keep my word. With your statement you have said it all. You might even be related to this guy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Do right would have been to keep his word. Sour grapes....naw. Just informing others on the board.

My word is as good as any written and notarized contract. I was taught that from my Parents. I have had many deals where I could have backed out but when I make a promise, I stick with it. The world would be much better if everyone felt the same. Thanks...Bill.

Don't you love it when a guy with a LOW post count makes an impression?

Bludog I admire your honesty. We all make mistakes. Hopefully we learn from them. I can see you did.

Thanks for sharing.

Well, I ain't seeking props, because this wasn't something you would ever be proud of. Maybe this guy can learn something from this experience too, that is my hope. Thanks, Greg B.

It's time for a bad guys list. The first place I look when doing a deal here is the Good Guys List. This site has some of the best people I've ever run across. Time to start culling the azzholes anyway.... Do what you say, it's really not that hard.

I second that. It would be nice to know who you don't want to deal with and why.
