I've ground the triggers on a S&W N-frame before--I removed the trigger from the gun and used hand files followed by stones. An easier route--and one I've taken since that first trigger-grinding project--is to find a smooth factory trigger and simply swap it in for the wide, serrated, target trigger.

The wind sounds and looks like around here! If you had been shooting with the wind to your back, the smoke may have reached the plate before the bullet. Nice shooting, especially for those conditions!
