Boartuff...

As promised some more pics. Thought I'd post 'em here instead of in a PM...

The shootin' bench is made from glued up/biscuit joined pieces of fir 2X material, planed and sanded. It's 37" wide, 32" deep and 36" tall. Works well with an office chair and is the same height as the loading bench.
[Linked Image]

A piece of piano hinge attaches it to the wall...
[Linked Image]

Bullet detents and a pull string...
[Linked Image]

The leg removes with two plastic handle wing bolts...
[Linked Image]

Can't recall the exact reasoning but it stows neatly in a recess in the wall.....
[Linked Image]

The load bench has two leg room cut outs, one for the press, ect., and one for the 'puter....it's 36" tall, 24" deep and a bit over 11' long.
[Linked Image]

Trimmer, press, ect., really handy being close...
[img]http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n179/wildswalker3/bench7.jpg[/img]

Keep all my dies and loading tools squared away in a machinists chest......
[img]http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n179/wildswalker3/bench8.jpg[/img]

Pretty simple really, but thanks for the chance to brag...grin.

Roy,
I'm jealous. That is a pretty nice setup you have there.

Mine is a pretty simple set up and easily put together.

Home Depot parts all the way.

Gotta love the old Winchester art above the bench. I'd consider some sort of mid-support or cantilever underneath the center, unless there is one and I just can't see it........

Mine is a spin off of the bench in the A-Square manual. The top is a underlay of two 2x12 with a piece of 3/4" plywood over it. The whole thing is held together with carrage bolts in slightly oversize holes that allow it to self level. The thing is hell for stout and shows no flex or movement no matter what I`ve done on it.
I use the second bench for cleaning rifles nd other home projects.

Looks like you need to add a shelf with a doggy bed for your pooch there.

Another good idea which I'll utilze. The basement concrete floor just may not be perfectly level and I hate the slightest wobbles. lol

No, it's quite sturdy. If you mounted your press over the main beam underneath it would maybe be even more sturdy. I wanted a little more room and the way some things lined up I moved it out to the corner, but suffered no consequences. The forster is a smooth machine though.

I left the two wooden cross pieces that come with the work mate and mounted to those cranked to their maximum widths, but I suppose you could remove them and figure out how to mount your table top to the metal frame. I can say that I didn't think that far into it and knew it would be sturdy either way. With the table saw, I had it wipped out pretty quick. You could actually probably take it outside and shoot off of it as well, while developing loads if you were so inclined.

Although certainly not in the same category of the benches you veterans have, here is a picture
of my "condo" bench.
[Linked Image]
Pretty rough looking, but very solid for what it is. The sheeting on the sides makes it quite sturdy.
I can't wait until I have the room to build a nice, full sized finished bench.
