I Googled the bad intro to Hannity's radio show, and it turned out it's these clowns.
I'm VERY proud my 5yr old son knows Jerry Reed and Waylon Jennings by name, and sings along to all their songs.

The music is awful, and the video is three times worse. I muted it and watched for a couple minutes in amazement. The short appearances by the hot chicks always had light flaring into the camera lenses, yet there were dudes o' plenty when the lighting was correct. I was half expecting the guys to kick the women off the set and consummate the bro-mance. Friggin' unbelievable what "country" has turned into. I thought little Timmy McGraw and that greasy Aussie that Kidman married were bad, but this new generation of clowns is completely off the schit meter!

Sure enough, Google kicked up several articles about this terrible new phenomenon. At least there's an awareness of the problem. Hopefully extinction is around the corner.

Local classic country station now says they play "Real Country". Been going noticeably down hill quickly. And what ever happened to "Western" music. That is my favorite. Never hear it any more.
"Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money." -Tom T Hall
It was a different world back then, and country music was pretty much limited to the South, parts of the West and Midwest, areas that were rural and "redneckish". The performers were few, and pretty much a very tight knit community. The songs they sang were songs that their audiences could relate to. I don't care for any country music that's been put out since the 1980's, as my favorite era was the 40's, 50's, 60's, and into the 70's. No, I wouldn't kick Shania Twain or Faith Hill outa my house if they came for a visit, but I'd rather hear a song sung by Tammy Wynette, Wanda Jackson, or Kitty Wells.
Country Music started it's long down hill slide in the mid seventies. Giving CMA Awards to Olivia Newton John for female Artist in '74, and the following year John Denver beats out Waylon, Conway Twitty, and Loretta Lynn for entertainer of the year! Opening the door to Pop started a trend that turned Country into the garbage on the radio today. 7mm
