Admittedly dumb as a stump about this kind of weaponry, but what would 50 cruise missles do to an airbase?? Seems like it would be pretty definitive.
Heard them described tonight on the news as flying telephone poles. Based on their dimensions I'd say that's pretty accurate. I wouldn't want to be in charge of cleaning up the mess.
There, fly your bombers loaded with chemical weapons off that air base now, you SOB. A show of force was needed. I credit Trump for his decision. When Assad sees how precise these tomahawks are / can be, he'll be looking for real estate outside the middle east.
For all the conspiracy theorists, consider the Russians putting the Syrians up to a chemical attack on behalf of the Trump administration. Thus, creating an opportunity for the administration to heed public outcry at the use of chemical weapons on women and children, rallying support. People love polarity. The world was largely a peaceful place while under the rule of two competing super powers.

Yeah Pat, I agree. But sending Tomahawk missiles into the south side of Chitcago doesn't generate the same optics as retaliating against Assad for supposedly gassing some kids. Just sayin.

I seem to recall when Reagan put a cruise missle in Muammar Gaddafi's tent. Killed a couple of his wives and kids. He was out of sight until he showed up in raghead and on a tractor a few weeks later. Long story short, he straightened up for a while.
