what's a beat up 870 run around now?
Andrew Been keeping an eye out for a cheap 870 to use as a bedside gun myself. swap out the barrel for an 18", mag extension, and maybe a light and you're good to go.

This one stays clipped inside my waistband no matter what else I may be carrying, it has a bunch of miles on it and has never bobbled with the Speer Gold Dots.

I understand it's getting dated but, there are 2 points about it that I thought I'd call to light. 1) That there are some documented results for the 60gr Win HP Silvertip. 2) The results from a percentage of stops standpoint aren't much different than the 380 or 38 Special.
I have a Seecamp 32 pocket pistol. It's a sweet little piece. I have a bunch of other handguns as well but this one is so easily concealable that you can carry it without notice wearing light clothing.
It wouldn't be my first choice for a home defense weapon for sure but they have a place. And, so many times I have seen these posts hinting that they're weak and not much better than a baseball bat. A few years ago someone on another sight claimed that they saw a guy shot in the head during an argument at a card game with one and it didn't penetrate. This is the kind of s#%t that gets spread around by people that have either never shot one or just want to slam something because someone else did.
When I first got it I shot my Seecamp using the 60gr Silvertips at some pieces of plywood from 5-10 feet. It shot right thru the 3/4" pieces so I doubled them up. The bullet would not penetrate 2 pieces of 3/4" but did put a heckuva dent in the 2nd piece. I put 2 pieces of 1/2" together and it blew thru them as well. The bullet held together very well and the hole was about 2x dia of the bullet.
It seems like the 32 has a little more pop than most people give it credit for. I'd hate to be shot with one, that's for sure.
Good shooting, Bill

Yeah, reading your posts and a few others in the handgun section made me a believer of the small Kel Tec.

LSU fan;
I have a .380 Kel Tec. It's ALWAYS there. It's my version of the American Express card; I never leave home without it.
Get one; you'll be glad you did.
Remember: Rule 1: Always have a gun. A .380 might not be the biggest gun possible, but if it's always there, then it's ALWAYs there and one helluva lot better than the .45 that's much bigger, but not there when you might actually need it most.
BTW - the .380 GoldDot JHPs are FAR superior to anything else I've tried. I still need to check out some of the CorBon DPX loads (Barnes Xs) but I have yet to see any on shelves, and until I do, I don't consider them a viable alternative (i.e. if I need to restock, I want them NOW... not on backorder).
