My first "Swede" deer was shot with a 140gr SST. It didn't move. Following whitetails were shot with the Hornady 129 SP. That made a larger exit hole, making tracking easier. Non died quicker than the one shot with the 140.

I really don't think about it compared to other bullets, I haven't experiences any negatives with it at all.

My attitude, is that it just plain works! Has everytime I've used it, which is a lot. from 260s, 6.5 x 55s and 6.5 x 57

Loaded at the muzzle velocity of 2250 on up to buzzing 3000 fps.

Contrary to Dennis, I prefer it dramatically over the Sierra 140 GK.... shot a deer with that bullet at a 2900 fps MV
and it opened a huge hole, shattering and giving away a lot of blood shot meat. Hornady's has given me that problem.

I don't reach for those new wonder bullets, when the old Hornady SPs work just fine for anything I've ever used it for.

I like the 140 ballistic tip, but I would NOT give it credit for being better than the 140 SP Hornady.

And its plenty good enough, I have had NO REASON to try Hornady's A Max or whatever they call their other plastic tip
wonder bullet.

My biggest concern about the bullet is Hornady discontinuing it, for something more trendy... and expensive.
