purchased a 1-4x SWFA illuminated scope on the tax day sale, need a rifle for it. think it might be geared toward ARs, but I'm partial to bolt guns. especially 18-20" barrel bolt guns. suggestions?

Well....since we've got to tell you how to spend your $, get a 77/357 and throw it on it. See if you can dial for 38 special's out to 300.

That would be a kind of cool setup with a Kimber Adirondack or MT

A 1-4X. That is geared for a .17 or a .22.
Otherwise why bother with this little size.
Are you asking because you got it on sale ??

You'll thank me later, especially when you experience that set trigger.

You mentioned being partial to bolt guns but I've got a 1-4x on my Marlin 30-30 lever gun and feel that's it's perfect for a woods rifle. At least now you've got an excuse to buy another rifle. I can relate to that.

That scope would be just right for a skunk or rabbit gun. 4X, just not enough for me and most hunters.

I have one on the way. Have considered putting on the AR, but I am really liking the idea of having it on a 20" 7-08.
Hell...Reloading/Shooting are still my favorite things to do,besides play in the box the kids came in.................

I'd grab that 6x45 Reno414 is selling in the classifieds.
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

I'd grab that 6x45 RenoH414 is selling in the classifieds. Great caliber, but IMHO a 6x45 deserves a bit more glass than a 1-4. http://www.vaguntrader.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/1179037Mine will get a 2.5-10 Nikon IRT

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Good suggestion. I ended up going teeka compact. We'll see how it goes. Decent little scope but I don't like it as much as the fixed 6x or 10x.

Positive clicks, though, and doubles as a hammer like every other SWFA scope. Illumination works well. It is phillipine manufacture, as opposed to Japan manufacture of the fixed models.

I'm running a AR Mod1 1.5-4 illuminated on a Ruger Hawkeye Predator .308. It's a good power range for a woods gun. At 1.5, it's very fast up close. I prefer more Xs for load testing, but a proper target helps with that.
What fresh Hell is this?

16" Blackout AR. If they made low 30mm Hawkeye rings I'd put one on a 375 Ruger.

Put it on a Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster. That'd be fun all day!
