Throw a hunk in a tortilla with a toss of cilantro and a bit of green salsa and I would be spinning.

Black Bear steaks on the outdoor grill. Pecan wood burned down to coals. Steaks rubbed with EVOO, then rubbed with some sea salt and black pepper.
Chewy, but awfully tasty. Green salad, 'taters baked in foil in the coals. Home made sour cream. Not bad, but it's not good beef.

Sam, I hate to see you so desperate you're reduced to eating bear. Send me, or Sam Olson a PM, and we might be able to find some good ole' beef for you!

Sam, many years ago my dad and I would camp om the snake river in Idaho. Our taters were always cooked in the coals but we slathered them in river mud to make a kind of a shell. Darn good and the mud really lent an extremely nice earthy taste to them. mm mm good. Try it sometime.

Remove "shell" before eating of course.

You're making me drool all over myself.

Probably a ham sandwich here.

Dan..Is that Wegmans up your way? if so, the stores down this way do not have that setup yet. In fact, they've cut back on their market offerings and focused more on the cryo-packed stuff. It's a little disappointing.

The Thursday before Easter they had 2 dry aged strips for sale. Whole Foods had at least 20 as well as other cuts.

Wegman's left the fish market up but really downsized beef. MRC's have also become the rave in NOVA.

Just yanked a giant Wegman's butt that went on at 9 last night. So that's about 17 hours at 235-250 dome. Looks perfect!

Pulled pork on Marty's jumbo buns topped with cole slaw and kitchen made hot vinegar sauce will be it!!

It's raining so might make some Brunswick stew with the leavens! Really need a pig head for that but oh well.

A simple salad tonight with our first greens from the garden (nice zippy stuff), green onions, avocado and Compari tomatoes with a can of Costco albacore dumped on top. Olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. It was killer.

From the garden is great!!

I may have already posted this but Costco canned tuna is the only canned tuna I will eat Ed. The rest is garbage.

The Kirkland brand wild Alaskan salmon cakes are also great!! Especially grilled.

You folks are eatin' high on the hog, things got late here.
The t-bone will have to wait, the baked potato was a nice snack.

Last night was a pastrami sammich. Took a corned beef rinsed and dry rubbed with my kitchen sink BBQ rub. Red onion from the farmers market, dill rye bread, course brown mustard.

Oh boy!
