Found a Marlin model 60SB in stainless with a 22 inch barrel, recessed crown set in a wood stock with a squirrel medallion in the stock...Made in 1995. Just wanted a sporter weight play rifle for the range with out having to load Ruger or T/C magazines box magazines. Rifle was never scoped but will be this week.

I've got one of the early "rare" carbine versions with the 16" barrel and walnut stock. It's just perfect for shooting skunks out the window of my pickup while driving around the Ranch. Only .22 I like better than the Marlin model 60 is my Remington Nylon 66.

I've owned several Ruger 10-22's and I just hate loading those damn rotary mags. It's 10 times easier to load my tube fed Marlin or Nylon 66 with one of those little plastic tube speed loaders I picked up years ago at a Gunshow. If you've never seen one they look like a big oversized clear drinking straw for a soda.

I have an old 60 that is probably 30 years old. I got it off a used rack about 20 years ago.

Most of the bluing is worn off as well as the finish of the wood stock but the damn thing just shoots perfectly, extremely accurate and reliable.
