Guys my son is wanting to get a new deer and coyote rifle. I was thinking I would get him one of the cz in 6.5 Grendel when they come out but they look to be a little pricey and still a ways out from shipping. I have read where these ruger Americans are shooters for the money. They don't seem to be too heavy. If anyone has one in 6.5 creedmoor or maybe even in 6mm creedmoor they will part with then let me know. I have a bunch of 6.5 bullets is why I would rather have the 6.5 but let me know. Thanks in advance.

Spook. You realize Ruger only chambers the American in the Predator model ? No standard blued, compacts or stainless- just the green stocked predator.

Thanks for the link drypowder. One of those shows the package weighing over 9 pounds. I wonder how accurate that is. I'm afraid it will be a bit too heavy for my son to pack around.
I do realize that the predator is the only model offered for the creedmoors. I have just read that they really shoot for the money. I'm Not looking for anything fancy. Just a good shooting rifle that doesn't break the bank for my son.

Spook1: The local pawn/sport shop has a NEW Ruger in caliber 6m/m Credmoor and they have two boxes of factory ammo for it. I have not paid attention to the price - its been in the shop for about 10 days. Their phone number is 406-683-9844 - they are open 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday if you are interested. Good luck in your search. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

With our eyes and Dad's money, this Boy is in pretty good hands.
BTW a new Browning A Bolt III Micro Stalker is $489.00

Not what you're asking about, but CDNN still has Marlin XS7s in 243 for $250. Accurate, attractive, and inexpensive, not a bad combination.
If you want one in 6.5 Creedmoor, you can find small shank Savage take-off barrels on eBay almost every week or two.

Whittaker's has the Howa in 6.5 CM and are running a 5% off moving sale. Puts them at $315 delivered.
The aforementioned A-bolt Micro from CDNN is a pretty attractive deal too.
