Does anybody know anything about their stainless barrels?
Have one? Like it?
416-416R? Im not a metallurgist.
My googlefu is coming up empty.
I've asked them, and they are notoriously tight lipped. Makes me hesitant to throw money at it.
I know there regular barrels are made FN. Chrome lined one Ive handled was very heavy.
Thanks for the help.

I'm running one and so far so good, but I haven't really done any accuracy work with it yet. Hope to get the scope sighted in soon.

I've shot a sample of one - 1/7 twist. Excellent results with 55 Gr. FMJBT. Several 5 shot sub inch groups @ 100 M.

I've had a few of them (either 3 or 4). One was a hand lapped 223 Wylde barrel that is excellent, and I'm still using with a bunch of rounds through it. The others were more recent, and all shot fine although obviously not a premium barrel. They've all been MOA capable or better with the right loads. If I wanted a premium match grade barrel I'd look elsewhere and pay more, but for the price of the PSA stainless barrels in their complete uppers, I'd buy another.

I was impressed. I shot a bunch of groups and average group size was around 1.5" and likely a bit over at 100 M. I expect 2.5 - 3.5" at 100 M. from ball.

Some of the new ball ammo is really good. I've been shocked how good the Norma Tac 55gr FMJBT's shoot. It's my new goto ball ammo.

Must be better projectiles around, I TRIED to sort and handload FMJ ball stuff for a few years.... it never would satisfy. To many fliers. It was not the brass, primer or powder... it was the projectile.

Thats not MOA IMHO... ONE FIVE SHOT group is a fluke..... or can be. If it was so good, why didn't he shoot say 4-5 more groups and show us...

YES.
416R
That's the gem
I've asked them, and they are notoriously tight lipped.
Don't know why they state it right in product description on the web site.
Thanks for the help.

I have a 18" 6.8 cold hammer forged SS that was manufactured by FN and sold by Palmetto. It is very good for the money and shoots small groups very fast. It is also very lightweight. I have been very impressed with it. Don't remember which SS it is. Got it about 2 yrs ago. Their chf barrels are GTG.

Hoping to make a range run next weekend. I like to get out before it gets much closer to the deer season. It just gets too crazy at the range. I'll be trying several different loads off the bench and will report back. Hoping for good groups out of Federal Fusion ammo.
