I got as big a one as I want for hauling all over the western States and intermountain States. It's an 18 1/2' Fisher, set up for fishing and cruising. I had considered installing a bigger motor than the 4-stroke 25 HP Merc Big Foot, but it moves the boat right along. I might go to a 40 HP and put the 25 on something like a 16' deep-V Lund. I rented an 18ft pontoon once for a couple hours that had a 25hp motor, and it did scoot it along just fine. Gonna mount up a trolling motor? “The Savage 99 Pocket Reference”. Longhunter_1 Campfire Regular Joined: Nov 2015 Posts: 573 Michigan	I got this little pontoon for our 3 acre lake. The little electric motor is all I need for comfortable fishing. It sure beats that old John boat I used for years. It's 13'6 with a 7X8' deck. total wt. 260#. This would make a life boat for that big rig of yours.
