I'm looking for 50-55 size cooler Yeti style. I saw the Ozark Trails today, they look ok. I've seen the Igloo coolers coolers like this. I need one for not everyday use don;t want to spend Yeti money. Ideas?

Ozark is not Yeti or Rtic quality, but it keeps ice for 100 hours outside in the summer sun on my back patio in Georgia. $150 bucks. Well made.

Rtic is the best bang for your buck when it comes to roto molded coolers

The Coleman Xtreme coolers are well known for being the best cooler for the dollar BY FAR. If the contents and cooler are pre-chilled, I've had beer stay cold in the Colorado Summer for 10 days. It can keep ice nearly like a Yeti but for 25% of the price. If that is your goal, you can't go wrong.

If the cooler has to "look and feel" like a Yeti (boxy and thick), you probably won't like it.

By the way, Otterbox is entering the high end cooler market. Although the price point is similar, they have a ruggedness and some features that will give Yeti a SERIOUS run for their money.

The Igloo Sportsman 55 is the best Roto for the buck without question. I like the latches and drain plug better than Yetti. It hold ice great.

Looks like you got a good one.

A lot folks on the Sams website didn't like theirs...

Yep. Got the igloo sportsman from Sams and it holds ice as well as my Yeti 45, but the lid warps from the sun or weather? I'm thinking that Ozark looks like a better built unit and should be a good one.

I have the Ozark from Walmart. It works as advertised. I'm pleased with it.

There are many good ones. I have to try a product myself because reviews can vary bigtime. Whether it stays on a vehicle, color, full sun, how much it holds, how often its opened, can all make a difference.

I did try this igloo based on an Outdoor Life Magazine rating -Vs- what I use it for and how often.

Its hard to pay a bunch of money for something you have to baby sit or it gets stolen.

I have seen two options that outperform the Yeti and nobody wants to steal. I've seen two cheap ice chest the smaller placed inside the larger and sprayfoam in the free space. The same guy put a cheap chest in his truck box and did the same.

Trying to substitute a Yeti is like a Vegetarian trying to substitute meat products. Why not by a Yeti, why not eat a real hamburger?

I have the ozark. Drop in 1/2 gal frozen water bottle and lunch. Go fishing all day and don't end up with more than 8 oz of water from the bottle. The rest is still frozen.

The Coleman Extreme is a helluva cooler for the price point.
One thing of extreme importance[especially with the lower priced/old style coolers] is to fill them up completely as air is the ice killer/melter.

RE not coolers but cups... or tumblers or what the heck they call em... Wife has bought about every brand out there and subjected to tests....

RTIC has beaten every other one, including the ozark one. Trust me we are tightwads, we were hoping the cheapest would prevail...

I recently purchased a 70 quart Maluna. It smokes the Yeti. Very well built, lot of little features/details, holds ice longer, and is less expensive.

www.maluna.com

This started out as a kickstarter, but are gearing up for full line production. There is a very active focus group on Facebook for them as well. I'm really impressed with it, and plan to buy at least one more.
