Has anyone used the old Accurate 2015 in a .222? I have a lot of the old 2015 (made in Isreal in 1990-1991) and want to try in in my duece.

Anyone with experience?

Thanks.

Dick Wright: Sadly I am down to just seven Varmint Rifles in caliber 222 Remington.
I wish I had never sold a one of the several other 222's I have owned.
As of now only one of my 222's prefers AA 2015 with the bullet I wanted to shoot in that 222.
I settled on this load back in 2,004.
The bullet I wanted to shoot out of this Remington 700 Classic in 222 Remington is the Nosler 40 grain Ballistic Tip.
I am using Winchester brass, Federal 205 M (match) primers and the aforementioned AA 2015 from the 2,004 era (I hope that is "old enough" to be of benefit to you and your inquiry).
With a Weaver V-16 (variable 4 to 16 power) scope this sporter weight all stock factory Rifle shoots groups (five shots at 100 yards) rather consistently in the .500" to .580" range.
I have another Remington 700 Classic in 222 Remington with a 10 power Lyman scope on it, and I tried the AA 2015 powder in it back in 1997 and it shot the 40 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips in the .600"+ range (5 shot groups at 100 yards) - but in this Rifle good old H 322 definitely outshot the AA 2015 with that bullet!
Best of luck with the AA 2015 in your 222.

Having shot thousands of rounds in a Sakko L-461, hard to beat R-7 or H 322.

I've added 2015 to my list of preferred powders for use in the 223 and 22.250,
the other old standbys are RL7, and H 322...

4198 in the 223 with 40 and 50 grain bullets.

They each give great accuracy in both cartridges....

Unahunt: I have a beautiful Sako L-46 heavy barrel Rifle in 222 Remington with an older (period correct?) Leupold Westerner (straight 8 power with adjustable objective) scope on it.
My Sako also prefers H 322 powder and the older model Berger 52 grain MEF (Maximum Expansion Factor) bullets.
Even with this modest powered scope it most often shots groups (five shots at 100 yards) right at 1/2"!
According to my loading log the last time I verified sight in with this Rifle the group I shot (five shots at 100 yards) measured .581".
You gotta love those older Sako's!

VarmintGuy: my 222 also has 8x Leupold friction fit scope on it, also have two more Sakos both in 17 Rem, one has 3-9 leo & HS precision stock which has harvested several hundred coyotes and a all original L-461 with 6.5-20x thats sent alot of prairre-dogs to dog heaven. Wrote several stories about them for the old Varmint Hunter here in SD. Both of mine have now been rebarreled with Shilen barrels and shoot itty -bitty groups. 4320 with 25grs and AA 2700 with 30grs.

My Sako A1 222 Rem heavy barrel with 21.5 grains AA2015 and a 50 grain Sierra blitzking yields 100 yard groups well under 0.5 moa. Scope is a 8x Leupold AO.
