Think of picking one up used. Anyone every own on? Accolades or warnings about them?

Rented one for acouple of weeks. Had fun abusing it in the desert. Seemed like a nice vehicle.

Really like mine, have 192,000 on my 2007. Don't get a 2006, for a number of reasons... a few things to watch. A lot of them crack the trans cooler, which is in the radiator. Real PITA. My trans went at 173,000. There is a glitch in the, security system that can render it unable to start unless locked for 10 minutes. Not good. At the boat ramp.... Occasionally, the drivers side window/door lock master switch gets cranky. Remove it, wait a couple hrs, and reinstall it. Apparently, it does some sort of reset. 14 - 18 mpg, VERY quiet, for what it is, VERY tight turning radius. 10 years, almost 200,000 miles, and NO squeaks and rattles. Oh yeah, the fuel pump top got pinholes in it, apparently normal, and they idle rough, if the throttle body needs cleaning.

My son drives a 2008. Been a good vehicle so far. He bought it used with 28K on it. Don't know how many miles currently.

The neighbor girl traded off a really good car for one, and she's had nothing but trouble with it ever since. From the time she's had it, it's been in the shop more than in her driveway. The sunroof drains got plugged up and it leaked water into the cabin, and various parts fell off with regularity. Last I heard (she's moved closer to her job) the transmission had gone out.

I can't speak to the H3 but will relay my buddy's experience buying a '03 H2 with 130k on it. He's had nothing but trouble, fuel pump, fuel line, hubs, I forget what else. I told him for the price he paid he could get a more recent Tundra with 100k on it and have no issues. I keep my mouth shut though. He's had bad luck with circa early 2000's GM products too- he had a Yukon before the H2 that always gave him trouble.
It's about like this:
"Do you puff peters?"
"Hell no!"
"NAZI!!!"

To clarify, the pinholes on the top of the fuel pump are a common problem. A few glitches, the radiator was a biggie, the trans was a biggie. Looks like 173,000 out of that trans is good service.

GM discontinued them. That should tell you something.

I know of no vehicle where ALL of them are perfect. My H3 has given good service. The demise of the Hummer had more to do with lefty tree huggers/media, than with any inordinate problems. Like I said, mine has given good service. How has yours done?

Part of the GM bankruptcy fallout. Tried to sell off the brand and the Chicom's wanted to buy it but that deal was nixed.

Chevy Colorado with a different body Sort of...a good amount of stiffness added. Works pretty good for me, but I don't go rock climbing or anything. Fit and finish is quite good, and the interior has held up very well.
