Taxes are going to be high anywhere on land worth a million dollars an acre. miles Miles, That's very true but it wasn't that much in 1962 when the family bought it. Kind of like the California prop 4 thing.

A non Canadian resident can't hunt anything without a guide right? How bout if a non resident buys land in BC. I would think if you owned the land you should get tags regardless right ?

A non Canadian resident can't hunt anything without a guide right? Aces; No they cannot - not big game anyway. Canadian residents can't either actually, but a BC resident can apply for a permit which allows them to accompany that Canadian resident for big game except all species of sheep and grizzly bears. Here's a link for the BC Hunting Regs if anyone is interested. http://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sp.../hunting-trapping-synopsis-2016-2018.pdfHopefully that answered the question? All the best to you all for the remainder of the summer. Dwayne

For some reason I can't get the website I linked to load up tonight so as to double check, but I want to say the answer is no. We don't really have land owner tags here as game is considered property of the province, not the individual. Hope that made sense sir, if I ever get the website to load I'll try to find where the answer lies. Dwayne

Thanks for the response Dwayne I think I understand you correctly. So the big game in B.C is managed for the residents of B.C.?

There's a fair bit of politics involved and lobbying from many sides - guide groups, first nations, hunter organisations, ecology groups, developers, ranchers and more. It mostly works, though.

Thanks Mike. I think managing the game for the residents makes perfect sense.
Best regards

Thanks for the response BC30cal. I was just curious.
When i first saw this post, I started looking for land for sale just for fun. Sure can get a lot of land up there. Compared to prices in MN. Lol. So i was just wondering.
I'll be heading up to Northern BC this fall for goat and moose. Starting to get pumped. Cant wait to see the landscape up there.

Duckless, wishing you the best for your hunt.
Hope you get as spoilt by the people, as you surely will by the breathtaking scenery !
