I wanted a trail mix sort of food for fishing and golf. I didn't want anything that would melt or otherwise go bad in summer. So, at the local Dollar Tree Store (Where Everything is One Dollar) I picked up one bag each of:
Tropical fruit Mix Dried Cranberries Roasted Peanuts Corn Nuggets
OutSTANDing mix. Crunchy, sweet, savory, slightly salty, and completely non-messy. Two fruits, two nuts = four bucks.

That sounds like a very good combination. I"ll give your "recipe" a try.

Just made up a new batch. Tropical Fruit Mix, Craisins, Honey flavored peanuts, and Ranch flavor Corn Nuts. They were out of Original corn nuts, but the Ranch ones are just fine, adding yet another layer of flavor. Yummy stuff, this.
