Does anyone know what type of load the original factory dial would be close too? Would it be closer to the trajectory of a .308 Win.165, .270 Win 130 or 7 RM 139?

Thought the factory is 1/4 moa adjustable if I'm understanding your question.

Factory dial should just be 0.25 MOA per click. If it was load specific it should be engraved on the top of the cap.

If you are talking of the CDS, it is in MOA, without a Zero Stop.
I have a couple that I got the free dial in MOA and with a Zero stop because I wanted the option of changing loads.
You just have to refer to a drop chart once you've determined the range.
I think the Zero stop is important with the CDS, there is no way to determine if you are on, or at least 15 MOA high or low. The Zero stop will limit you to about 14 MOA, but for me that is not an issue.

Yes I was talking about the CDS with the numbered increments of 100 yard distances. I can get one free custom dial and I'm trying to decide which load the factory setting is close to, so I will know which custom dial to order.

You need to shoot the load, know the BC of the specific bullet, chrono it, and send that info to Leupold and they will make the appropriate dial.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Yes, I'm just being cheap, I know I can get a custom dial, but was hoping to also be able to use the original dial if it is close to a very different load, thus having two usable dials.

I guess I don't understand. My "original" dials are in MOA increments, and will work with any load.

Problem is, the factory dial is consistant clicks (hash lines) to infinity of the range of motion. In other words, on a custom dial, there are much fewer clicks between 1 and 200 yards then say between 400 and 500.
You could probably put tape on the dial, sight in at 100, 200, 300, 400, etc. and put hash marks on the tape. But like said before, if you get close to one revolution, it could get confusing without a zero stop.
The custom dial is essentially just reference marks. It changes nothing with the adjustment per click or clicks per inch at 100
