Inst cluster is about $100 to rebuild easy to take out google GM Inst cluster rebuild.

My 04 is getting rebuilt $65 and that includes shipping.

Check front wheel bearings jack it up and listen and check for play.

Fuel pumps can be an issue if owner ran it lo on gas.

I've had 3 different GM transmissions fail at around 100 to 120k. 2 were older ones than this one and 1 was newer, in a car. I haven't been impressed.

We have had a 2000 and 2002 Chevy with that motor. They have been great trucks. My son put 165k on the 2000 and now has 125k on the 2002 which is the same body style. No problems other than routine wear and tear maintenence

I have a 2000 z71 1500, bought it in 03 with 60k on it. It now has 225,000 and i am handing it down to my son who was 2 when I bought it. I have replaced the transmission like others have said, a fuel pump, water pump, 2 alternators, front bearings around 90k and just recently again and just recently replaced the rear end that went out. Instrument cluster has been fine. It has the hot air thing that blows even when on cold intermittently and the door lock quit working but it is probably an easy fix. The engine is pretty bulletproof and has plenty of get up and go.
