Every other oil change and rotate, I change the air filter. 6,000 mile increments are easy to remember when you get old.

Like my 4 Stroke outboards dont want used oil sitting in engine all winter. Oil is cheap insurance! kk alaska Alaska 7 months of winter then 5 months of tourists

I saw a commercial with some nascar guy saying using his oil you only need to change it once a year. I'm not sure I'll ever come around to that. I use the same interval on my '06 Cummins Dodge and it's doing fine

If your oil isn't clear, it's time to change it. When I growing up in West Texas, Dad changed it every 1000 miles, but that was a dusty climate. "...the designer of the .270 Ingwe cartridge!..."

You'd be changing your oil every 200 miles if you went by the motto if it isn't clear you must change it.
