It's a pretty natural comparison; they're very similar actions. It looks to me like the Ruger engineers looked at the T3 action and thought of some ways to improve it, and came up with the RAR/Precision Rifle action. No doubt the Tikka is generally much better quality and fit/finish though. Having owned all three, I would (and have) pick either the Tikka or RAR over a Hawkeye or any other M77.

I have held many rar and can not see how anyone can compare the tikka side by side. Especially the actiom.

Euro optics has t3 on clearance (not t3x) there is a 270 hunter (wood stock) for 510$

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

You must not realize what you're looking at if you don't see the similarities, or are hung up on price and fit/finish quality. Enclosed (as opposed to open-top Mauser style) action, 60 degree bolt throw, magazine fed, etc; there are a lot of design elements in common that are different than most other rifles made these days.

A $1 bill and a $100 are very similar, similar colors, printing style, picture of old dead white guy grin.
Try to take the Mrs. out for dinner with the one that has George Washington's picture.

Fit and finish for the $ is what I meant.
To each his own brother. To the OP. Go feel and shoulder as many rifles as you can. What works for me may Not work for you.

Personally, I'd buy the Ruger...

their Howa 1500 Model.... in 7/08.

I actually like the Communist block CZ's better but CZ wasn't on the OP's list......not that matters on the interweb.

See how much experience character your other rifles have. If they're fairly pristine, go Tikka. If there are lots of hunt memories pressed into and rubbed off from your rifles, then the Ruger.
