I am going back this year with a guy who runs a small outfit. Its been 8 years since I have been back. I hunted with him for 10 years before that. I took a break because of a health problem then the winters that really hit the heard hard. One of my buddies continued when I was taking a break.I can let you know how it is after we return. I won't do that until I get back, heard he really improved his blinds. He has ran just 5-6 hunters a year and I like that. He said he plans to open it up to maybe 9 or 10 next year.

Well, never hunted Saskatchewan, but hunted Alberta last year. Hopefully you hired a good guide. Canada is a magical place full of giant deer and stupid cool people, savor it and have a great time!!! I think about it everyday!!!
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

I have hunted with Buck County Outfitters and they are great. The lodge is especially cool.
It's more than just the trigger pull.

Must be a big outfit to run 10-12 hunters per week? I know the outfit I use now in the hay day they ran 4-6 hunters a week for 3-4 weeks. We leave on the 17th for our hunt this month. I talked with him this morning about doing a camp hunt by boat about 30 miles back in at his moose camp. They seen some dandies while moose hunting. The numbers were down so he backed out of that area for deer about 12 years. He offered my group a week in Oct before freeze up to go in there and hunt 2018. I told him consider it booked unless I see they have a hard winter and lose a bunch of deer. I like the idea of being the first group back in there for 12 years. He plans to start baiting back there in the end of this month. I will need to find 2-3 more guys since some of my group can't go next year. He said he won't run it for 2-3 guys. it has to justify all the work getting prepared for hunters.

Several local guys have hunted with Caribou Trail Outfitters in SK, according to them (one being my brother-in-law) the hunting is great and Mark is an excellent host. www.cariboutrailoutfitters.comAlso, check Safari River Outfitters in SK. I have no personal experience with them, but they made my short-list of potential outfitters. Best of luck.
