The truck is all packed and the trailer is stocked. I'll be leaving tomorrow to hunt pronghorns in Northpark. It took 16 points to draw the premium tag. I've taken several nice representative speed goat bucks over the years but no great champions. The 5 units in Northpark are managed to produce trophy bucks. So I hope that I will come home with a 'Booner this time. I scouted the area a couple of months ago and I saw lots of antelope and a handful of bucks that might be worth taking. I kept saying to myself "Give that guy a couple more months to grow those horns a little bit bigger and he just might be the one I'm looking for."

I'll be camping in that big meadow next to the Buffalo Pass road, just inside the Forest Service boundary. If anyone wants to stop by in the evening for a visit and a cup of coffee or maybe something stronger, you can look for a small white Casita travel trailer parked under the trees.

KC: Best of luck to you!
I did not get drawn at all this year in Montana for Antelope.
Let us know how you do.
I will be helping my friend who did get drawn on his Hunt which opens this Saturday here in Montana.
Enjoy your Hunt and I hope the weather is conducive to all day Hunting.

I don't have an antelope tag this year, but my brother does. He has a herd with a good buck in walking distance from his house. He says he can get within 25 feet of the herd with his car.

I told him THERE ARE NO SURE THINGS IN HUNTING OR FISHING

Don't PM Jeff0 for advice on the hunt, tactics, strategery, horn care, meat care.

This buck lasted 15 minutes of antelope season.

His herd was hanging around the dump and let people get within 25 feet.

My friend had used the same $200 camper for 30 years.
His cost of use was something like 5 cents per hour.
He could cook great meals in it when we did overnight hunting.
Then he rolled the truck and destroyed the camper.
I built an adapter in the bed of his old truck to put in a tiny old used camper.

A good hunt. But you know it always happens, after I shot this guy, I saw one even bigger.

The weather was glorious on the first and second days. The next day the snow was so deep in the morning that I pushed snow away when I opened the trailer door.
