That's quite a bit cooler than we had here. It was 42 when I was telling some of the kids they shouldn't wear shorts. crazy

I have a slight urge to rub a coat rack here at the office. A smaller sized one, not ready for the bigger ones yet.

Beautiful cool fall morning today. Got a few sports to get out of the way today. Then we have to do fall lawn/yard care. I hate to say it but I'm putting the oat up today. Sunday will be church and shooting, shooting, shooting. And some deer blind work. WI youth season is next weekend. We'll see if we can get the kids off to an early start.

The woods are starting to look a lot different now. The lower brush is starting to lose the leaves and the deer trails are showing up a lot better because the grass isn't regrowing. Some frosty nights and things will get exciting quickly!

We found a few rubs that popped up. One was a complete wreck job on the tree. If it was one buck, he was really really angry with that tree.

Was at deer camp last weekend. Lots of color and underbrush getting thin so trails starting to show. Saw quite a few tracks and a few rubs. Finally got a couple of cams up so hopefully they are taking pictures as we read this.

On turning north off Mn. 1 onto the FS road we had a wolf run down the road in front of us. Also ran into a couple of grouse, no shotgun...

I told the kids as we were doing cabin road work. "We need to get it done now when it's dry because it's going to start raining and it's not going to stop raining until the rain turns to snow.

That's exactly whats going in right now. We are wet, wet, wet!

Not having a shotgun along is a guarantee to be covered up in grouse. lol We didn't see any woofs, but we saw plenty of tracks. We were up in WI. Last week at our spot in MN, there were also plenty of woof tracks there as well.

In MN I have only 1 buck on the cam so far.

In WI there are tons. but nothing big. The WI youth deer hunt starts this coming Saturday though, so it would be nice for the kid to pick knock one down.

Got to drive through first snow storm of the year on I80 across Wyoming. We were going to go across Colorado on I70 but it was closed last night and into this morning so we took the northern route. Heading for southern Utah to checkout some of the National Parks.

Last Night in North Platte Ne. we had a monster thunderstorm now today was a day rain and then snow. Wife got to drive the worst section of 80 as the road was ice covered for 50 miles or so.

We had a pretty good storm here last night too. No snow yet though. Dave took care of that. We're not getting any this year.

We arrived at Bryce Canyon about 1:30 this afternoon. Plan on a few day here and then Zion and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and whatever else sounds good.

Out of all the national parks in Utah, Bryce is easily my favorite followed by Zions. And you can never go wrong with the Grand Canyon. That sounds like an awesome trip.

I'll be just outside of Bryce next week, but for a different reason. Antelope is on the menu.

Ugh! we need one. It's 50* this morning. There are some deer starting to show up dead on the side of the road now. One about 200' feet from our house. Of course all the kids had to run down and check it out. grin

First deer camp of the season coming up. WI youth deer hunt. If he gets one, it looks like Jr is going to get a lesson in skinning deer. It's pretty warm! 50's and 60's. During the day. Mid 40's at night.

Good luck to you guys Tzone. My daughter is going 2nd week for rifle this year. She's pretty excited.

Back from my goat and moose trip. Got within 80-180 yards of 3 differ bull moose but were to small to shoot. Was really warm, moose were around but lying low for the most part. Saw lots of goats. Ended up wounding a goat, looked all over for the bugger. Saw it one more time then it gave us the slip. Goats are hard to kill holy cow there tough.

Was my first time goat hunting. It was the most physically and mental hunt ive ever done. I was on the verge of this isnt fun anymore, and at times why am i paying for this. It's hard to explain unless you've actually goat hunted before.I had an idea what the hiking would be like.Trained all summer, and all that went out the window in the first 20 minutes. LOL... Going to be awhile before i start thinking of chasing thee old Billy around.

Had good food, great guide. Our little cabin was on a glacier lake with 14-17" Rainbow's.Every cast pretty much had a trout on.

My buddy got a goat and moose. Super pumped for moose meat.

All and all was a great trip. I'll try and post some pics when i get some time.
