After finishing with the 7mm-08 I moved on to my 243 which is a Savage 16 Lightweight Hunter. Using 95 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips I wanted so much for the H4831sc to be the best because I have massive amounts of it. 42 grains gave the best group at about .8-.9. 44 grains gave about MOA and everything else was decent in the 1.5 inch neighborhood. Loaded all the way up to 45 with no pressure signs.

Just for curiosity I tried 41, 41.5 and 42 grains of IMR4350 with the Fed 210's loaded to a length of 2.68. All three groups were smaller than the best with the 4831. With 41.5 being basically one hole. Now I havent chrono'd any of these but it looks like the gun has spoken. I probably should have just started with this powder as much good as I have read about it but gonna try R15 and R26 still with this gun but unless there"s just massive velocity issues it looks like I"ve found my load.

4350 is my go to powder for most of my rifle loads. works well in most of the stuff I load.

in fact, nowadays I TRY to make it work first, just so I can store fewer powders.

I am beginning to think IMR should have called it 4150 and just labeled it for 243...seems 41.5 is so often the sweet spot in the 243. I know I landed there by accident when variances either way weren't special, and it works with more than one weight or style bullet.

That is always so comforting.

Always used IMR 4350 in my 243's. Been guilty of using several more grains than listed here. Seems like the higher I went the better it shot. Hasbeen

IMR4350 made loading for my 243's rather dull. On one, the second load I tried with a 90 gr AB printed 3 @ .4 and 5 shots at .45. Velocity right at 3200 IIRC. On the second one it took me all of 3 loads to get similar results.

Good timing. Just got done working up with RL26 and 103gr ELD-Xs, and prepped brass for 90gr E-Tips with 4350. Gotta start low with the heavy Nosler bulk brass I'm using.

Hoping to get something that prints close to the 103s if possible. Early tests with starting loads in Hornady brass are a little too low.

Started using IMR4350 in the .243 since buying my first one back in 1974. It works great, but H4350 works just as well in the same charges, give or take half a grain for differences in powder lots). But IMR4451 looks like it may be even better. Haven't done that much testing yet but so far it may be even better than the 4350's.

Reloder 26 also does well. In a Barrett Fieldcraft's 21-inch barrel, RL-26 gets superb accuracy from 100+ grain bullets, including the 100-grain Partition at 3125 fps and the 105 Berger Hunting VLD at 3000.

I know there's no data, but do you think it's possible that RL26 might work well with the hard-to-push E-Tips?

My gun may be a little on the slow side.Model 16 Savage Lightweight Hunter 20" barrel. It has prob .200 of freebore so my velocities are a tad low. The 41.5 loading with the IMR averaged about 2830. The 42 grain was about 2880 Accuracy was amazing with both. I also tried R26 at 47 and 48 grains. The R26 averaged 2935 with 47 and 3010 with 38. Accuracy was .97 and 1.8 inches respectively. I havent found anything close to a pressure sign with this gun yet. Gonna try 42.5 of 4350 tomorrow. This stuff is addictive LoL BTW... Does anyone else tend to get a lot of fliers with CCI primers? Never get them with the Fed 210's or the WLR's.
