I used the 108 ELD M this morning on a Mully doe. Muzzle velocity is 3000 fps and and shot her at about 250 yards right behind the shoulder. She staggered around about 40 yards before falling over very dead. upon skinning I found what was left of the bullet on the far side under the skin. Jacket with no lead and a small chunk about 10 gr of lead. 3 Ribs at the entry were way busted up. the ribs on the far side were all intact with just a tiny hole between ribs that looked like someone had just stabbed her with a screw driver. We don't get many doe tags in Utah to test stuff on but this is my newest long range gun so I wanted to give it a test. dead deer for sure but I wont be using it on a buck.
Everyone is pretty on the internet!

Last hunting season I killed about 20 Whitetail does and a few pigs, with the 108-m never recovered a bullet. Rio7

No input on killing a deer with the amax yet, but here's what my pencil bbl 700 in .243 liked last week.
Win case, 210M primer, ( book max ) of 40.2 grs of IMR 4350. 3 shots @ 100 yds = .604 Win case, 21OM primer, 48.7 gr of Retumbo . 3 shots @ 100 yds = .717
According to the data I found, the Retumbo load should be about 100 fps faster than the IMR 4350 load. Both loads are loaded to 2.810 c.o.l to feed from the mag.

Seems like most want to go high tec on bullets these days, and we love how that BC helps us with the wind. However, the Hornady 100g BTSP is a bullet that just works, very accurate. I don't like to plan on perfect shots when hunting, thus a bullet that will hang together in quartering shots will hedge your bets. We killed many, many large white tails in Nebraska and Kansas at 200-400 yards with the 100g Hornady Sp and BTSP, large bucks weighing as much as 280 lbs and none less than 200.
We shot around 41g of IMR 4350 in Rem 700's with the 100g Hornady, tad more in the 6 Rem.
Today, R#26 would rule the day. I like to shoot a deer bullet that will not explode on a shoulder...you often have to shoot at a running deer if they are in the rut.
