Looking at trading into a rifle that wears a Swift 3-9 variable. If I do the trade, I'm inclined to sell the scope instead of investing time in figuring it out.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Okie John

I have had a few Swifts. The Premier line has a lifetime warranty. At one time all of the scopes did but they changed to 5 years on the lower line (now called Reliant). I have found the glass to be good. If you sight in and don't do a lot of turret twisting, you should be ok. The adjustment system seems a bit suspect. Not sure who actually makes the scopes as they are made in South Korea.

I missed the biggest deer I've ever had my crosshairs on in Colorado and then a nice local buck when a Swift lost its zero during hunting season. I wouldn't put one on anything bigger than a 22. I replaced it with a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 that has provided about 15 years of reliable service since.... if I had done it before the season that monster buck would be on my wall.

Might be better to dump that scope before the trade rather than after, if possible. Doubt there's much of a market as most have never even heard of Swift.

Or, if the deal is a good one either way, count the scope as collateral financial damage.

I bought one about 20 years ago. Still have it somewhere. At th3 time I want to say a $150 scope. Also think back then it was over the counter warranty. IRC.

Clear scope. Killed deer with it.

I have 2 Swift scopes.
2X handgun on a Ruger MKII works well
2-7x40 on a Rem Mod 7 in 260 works well.
Good glass for the price. No problems with tracking.
I just sighted them in and left the adj. set.
