I've had plans for some time to have JES rebore a Kimber Montana to 358 win. There's enough meat if you cut the barrel to 20". I would have to find a good 308 donar though and I've had too many other projects going for a while.

I'd rather have a case of the clap than any AR.... I agree, I'd rather stick my dick in a blender, th as n sport ANY AR platform..... 358 is prime custom material....
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

Not quite ready for that, but it only took about a hundred rounds through mine to decide it wasn't my "thing". Already gone, traded for a long-time itch-scratcher. On the other hand, I have high hopes for the nice M1 carbine my father gave me. Haven't fired it yet, but it's very handy, kinda like a big-bore 10/22.

I have one in 5.56 just to have one. Deadly accurate, but it is pretty much safe queen. However, if I were faced with that particular choice, I think it would become my favorite rifle.
There was no greater freedom than when I would leave Holiday Park Fish Camp heading my airboat west toward the Big Cypress. Fuel for 4 days, a good machete, an ice chest. No phone, no radio. Just God and me and the Everglades.
