Ok, so I folded like a lawn chair and joined the 6.5 Creed cult, ordering a T3X from Darrik at Whittakers (great place). I would like to know you guy's thoughts on the various rings and bases setups please. Please save the tactical setups if you don't mind.
Will use my SS 3-9x42MQ My simple mind says just get the Warne's and mount directly to rail. I already have Burris Sig 30mm rings laying around. Love these. How about me getting the Leupy dual dovetails to go with them? Already have 30mm weaver style Warne's so I could just get some Weaver style bases/Weaver rail? Talley LW's?
Thanks Amigo's.

I used Wayne's on my T3 lite. Simple, strong and trouble free. I like the direct connection with the receiver.

JG, I've posted this several other times, but IMHO a good option if you don't use the Talleys is using the 2 piece DNZ base/rings that look like a beefier version of the Lwt Talleys. The DNZ aren't pretty by any means but are super stout and a bit lower than the Talleys which is why I went with them. The come in 2 styles I think one with one top screw per side and one with 2 which I think they do consider their "tactical" but really they look the same only wider rings. They are a little heavier than Talleys but so far I do like them, have been great on my SL 7MM-08. Good luck with your rifle, I'll be joining the club as soon as they come out with the T3x Superlite 6.5's

iff'n they make DNZ gamereapers for it, that'd be my choice. I use them on several guns

Thanks. Does look great... Really great rifle!
Is the width of the base wider than the rail like the Talley, such that they could be milled out like the modified Talleys?

I’m using the Warnes and putting another SS 3x9 on mine. They fit well and seem pretty clean.

You guys with the dnz mounts, are you lapping the rings? I haven't, one of the reasons I use the one piece mounts. I guess I take for granted that the machining is spot on

I was going to order the one piece DNZ's. Well, right or wrong, while in Lubbock this morning (ortho checkup) I wandered into Cabelas. Low and behold, there was a set of Warne Tikka's in medium staring me in the face. Seemed like an easy fix so I guess I'll try them out. Thanks for all the help.

Doin' good Johnny, thanks for the well wishes. I finally gave up trying all the new stuff, and sold everything that wasn't 708.(well, ok, my 284 LR Hammer, too) But, point is...I've found the magic bullet, they shoot dam near as good as my competition rifles (sub 1/2 moa) and I love the builds. I'm just plain done building any more. Now I'm going to see what it takes to REALLY burn out a barrel...then just replace. I built a pile of custom rifles on my modified Tikka actions and recoil lugs over the last 8 years, and found what I was trying to accomplish. Now, I just kill stuff with them. Good luck with your 6.5, and let me know when I can come down and show you what a REAL 708 shoots like.
I should have just bought a [bleep] T3...

140 Berger, 140 AccuBomb, and 140 NBT. Something worked out just right...they all 3 shoot lights out. And with a can, you watch the impact.
