Whitetail shot at 650 yards from sitting position using bipod for rest to get above yuccas. 7mm Remington with 4-14 SHV F1, with 180 ELD-M. Herd clipped but only needed one. Bullet entered left front shoulder and quartered back into lungs. My best ever long range sitting shot on big game. Deer never moved. Summer time steel shooting does pay off.

Couple of very nice bucks there 30338! Congrats.

I just shot the first legal 3x3 I found here in Washington, with my 25-06 Remington and a 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. The rifle has a 6x Leupold and a Montana sling. It's a good general-purpose setup that has brought me quite a few mule deer, certainly not a specialized long range rifle! The shot was only 212 yards, which was very convenient as the rifle is sighted-in at 200 yards. Used a wide-leg sitting position, no rest. Couldn't go prone, too much tall grass between me and the buck.

The meat has been excellent! I was hunting solo. Quartered him up afield, and hiked out with a pretty heavy pack in the dark. Enjoyed still being able to do that.

I'll hope to post a full report on our hunt later, but got this 161" 4x4 at 560 yards. M70. 6.5x284, 143 ELDX, Bushnell 3-12x44 LRHS. Took three steps and then fell over. ELDX passed through both lungs and two ribs.

No real long shots here, but i have :
A buck antelope w/ .300 H &H
A doe antelope w/ .270
A doe antelope w/ .340 wea.
A mulie buck w/ .300 H &H
A whitetail buck w/ a .25/06
A whitetail doe w/ .300 H & H..
Still have 2 elk tags if I get the energy to go.. Pheasants right now..

The H & H is a # 1 that I just got around to using.. Elk will be later if at all.. Birds are fun.. I can pick them up and put them in my pocket..

Clark, you really did some traveling!!!! I used to do that for deer, but my dogs don’t like deer hunting.. They beg for birds.. Have fun..

I had lots of tags left, but I had a freezer full worth of meat, and my toddler grandson was on the phone with baby talk, trying to get me to come home.
We take out the garbage together, it is a big adventure.

Thanks. Love the LRHS, had it on two rifles and two muzzleloaders over the past few years and really love it. Wish it was an inch shorter and 4oz lighter... but you can't have everything grin

This year I took my Mchorter 7mm ST using 180 VLD's at 3150 fps and shot antlerless at 677 yards and Mule deer at 417 yards. I dailed the Leupold VX-5 CDS to shoot the elk, dailed back to zero to shoot the deer running up a ridge, aimed in the antlers, hit the top of the heart.

Some damn fine mule deer,congrats.

I used my dads old 270 win this year for deer, still works! Took a buck in Colorado at 620 yards with it, 170 EOL. Can't post pics from the phone anymore. Nothing special, last day I could hunt buck.
