My NULA .260 has the 24" #2 cut at 23". It balances perfectly and is my favorite hunting rifle.
LC I just received a FULA in 6.5 with a #2 at 23". Haven't put a scope on it yet but I have high hopes for it based on the un-scoped balance.

The suggestions in the other thread prompted this thread. I spoke with them a while back about this and they actually suggested I put this on here. I've been too busy to start another project, but the timing is better now.
You guys interested in a special run of Barrett Fieldcrafts?
They already told me they'd do it with a few limitations. It would have to be right handed. Special stock color, special barrel contour and maybe cut-rifled? Something they already chamber or something that could be done with minimal modifications would be on the table.
Let's hear some thoughts and we'll go from there. I'll communicate with them discussing possibilities and they'll be following this thread.
Whatcha want?? Hey SAS any traction on this idea of a special run? Where's our count at for anything close to the original parameters? Still wishing that "the already chamber" rule would be ignored and a 6.5 PRC would be offered.

It's the "already action" that kills the 6.5 PRC.

I'll have an update soon. Lots for them to do. Cost estimates, engineering, production scheduling, etc....
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

Ill throw in my two cents. 24" fluted 280AI. Graphite black cerakote. Yeah, Brown stock / red pad.

Interested in the results of this as well. I've used two different Fieldcrafts this year, one a short action/one a long, and really like them. Wondering if I should hold some $ back for one of these or go ahead and pursue something else......

Nothing wrong with the 280AI but of the 2 Fieldcraft actions the short action gives a lot of freedom with the 3" mag box. The long action isn't bad but doesn't have that plus...and with some of the new 7mm bullets that would be a big plus. I'm pulling for a short action.....but won't cry over a long.
Y'all requesting brown/red on a synthetic stock for a stainless rifle (wood/blued w/red is all good)....well, why don't you just go ahead and request it in .270....grin.

Looks like the only new chambering is the .224. Blah.

No mag action for the 350 unless they are releasing a new action at shot. The .358 Win on the short action would be SWEET, but would probably need a little heavier barrel like their long action's contour.

Interested. Waiting for a .223, but they are already gonna make that. A .358 Win, .280 Rem or a .280 AI would get my attention.

I want more news on that GD Mini action we were teased with!
And my only request would be to just make the short actions 22" with the #2 contour like the long actions got.
