While it certainly is a nice SRC, the seller seems mighty proud of it at $4495.00 + $60.00 shipping. 30 yrs. ago I bought as nice a SRC .30/40 for $500.00, I know times have changed and prices have risen but that much. really?

I fired an 1895 TD in 30 govt 06 on Tuesday. Wonderful rifle! Functioned perfect. It shot about half inch at 25yds and recoil was not bad at all. That metal crescent butt could be v painfull if not held tight. Couldn't imagine shooting one in 405.

Isn't that 30 Cal Govt round actually the 30/40 Krag rather than the 06?

I wondered that too Bob but its stamped right on the barrel 30 Govt 06. Before we shot it I cycled empty 3006 casing in her. They functioned fine. Even crazier is some were chambered in 30 Govt 03!! The rifle I fired was made in 1923.

The 30 Army is 30/40 krag. So is the 30 U.S.
30 government is the 3006.

The deal that makes it so confusing is the 45 70 government.
