Very nice ram ABeee. Where is "the sleeping indian"?
And what caliber is your R1?
I had one in 270 Short mag. It was very finicky but with a load of H1000 and a 160 Gr Nosler Partition it would shoot very close to MOA. I killed an elk 2 seasons ago with it at 400 yards. That's the longest shot on a elk I have ever taken, but it was not a problem with the R1. I sold it to a very good friend of mine last year. I just never go the warm-fuzzes from it the way I do my Mausers, but I can't really say anything bad about the rifle. Soft shooting, accurate and super well made. I owned if for a few years and I killed a few deer, elk and antelope with it. I had no complaints.

The Sleeping Indian is a mountain in the Gros Ventre range near Jackson. The R1 is a 300 winmag that is set up for a suppressor (not used on hunt). I also have a 270 WSM one that (as with the 300) has exceptional wood. Have not shot it much but just bought a Z800 3.5-10 conquest for it that will get tried when we return to WY in June. Never understood the WSM in a long action rifle. Wished it were a regular 270 WCF or 280 AI. Don't get used to seeing me as the troll attack (steelhead) has begun. I hunt, they troll (yes that's a 1809 Baker military flintlock rifle)

So, assuming those assumptions are correct, where's your orange? No person, other than archers and crossbow hunters hunting during a special archery season or limited quota archery only Type 9 season, shall hunt any big or trophy game animal without wearing in a visible manner one (1) or more exterior garments that shall include a hat, shirt, jacket, coat, vest or sweater of a fluorescent orange color. Fluorescent orange camouflage is legal. Muzzle‐loader hunters participating in limited quota muzzle‐loading seasons are required to meet the fluorescent orange requirements.

On the map, Sleeping Indian is actually Sheep Mountain. Imagine that! It's a prominent landmark in the valley, right across from the airport. It's also the place where one of Bill Clintons secret service c130s crashed for reasons unknown.
Stupidity is expensive If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
