Well that was the plan until I saw this thread,. Now I'm convinced I need more rifles.

Leupold M8 3X. It has a place to live. It has a lazy owner.

Leupold UL 3-9EFR. It floats between an accurate springer air gun and an accurate Marlin 39A Mountie.

A NIB Leupold UL 3-9EFR. It is to stop some of the floating on the above 3-9.

A Leupold 3.5-10 VariX III AO. A back-up to several others of the same ilk.

A mixed bag of vintage and cheap scopes removed from purchased rifles. They come in handy when neighbor or family kids need a scope.

Joe,

2 VX-III 3.5-10x40 with M1 without a rifle home.

Have 2 FX-3 at Leupold now getting M1’s installed.

Looks like AMRA and Calvin and I need to do some trading....can never have too many FX-3 or FX-III.

Went and checked the "bullpen" and there's a 6-18x Burris Fullfield 6-18x that was on a .25-06 I won in a raffle in 1997. Replaced it with a Leupold.
Also a N.I.B. Redfield Battlezone TAC-22 2x7x 34mm that I got on sale but later decided it just didn't look "right" on my CZ-455, (might put it on my 10/22 someday).
A Leupold 2.5x scout scope that was on a scout scope mount on a K-98 Mauser for about 10 years before the Mauser went back to being "period correct".
A Tasco World Class 3-9x 40mm from circa 1995 that was replaced with a Redfield Revolution 4-12x 40 mm.
A Bushnell 1.75-4x 32mm shotgun scope from a garage sale. Unsure of its age but the price was right and it came with original box & manual.
A 3-9x 40mm Simmons 8 point that was mounted on my 300 WSM Savage Mod. 10 Package Rifle that I got new in 2004. Replaced it after less than 25 rounds with a 3.5-10x Leupold.
An old K-6 Weaver
A 3-9x A.R.T. ( Auto Ranging Telescope) IV with Springfield Armory markings that was on an M1-A I picked up in 1989.
Glad I spotted this thread.... Gave me an excuse to go through and inventory some of the optics that are laying around hidden in boxes and drawers.

I find the same occurrence since my eyes have gotten older. Variables of 8x and 10x replacing 6x, and variables of 6x replacing some of the 4's.

As the eyes aged, I have become enamored by optics as much or more so, than by rifles and cartridges. It seems that I am often replacing scopes with "my current perfect for application scope".

I have several presently homeless scopes. Most are take-offs from used rifle purchases, some were replaced by other purchases.
Hell, just purchased another scope today and unsure where it is going.

FWIW since my eyes got older Ive got a bunch of 3x9 scopes.....rather than the bunch of 1.5-5X I used to have....

None at the moment. Although technically one scope, a Zeis Conquest 3.5 x 10 x 44. That scope is mounted on my dad's Sig AR. He had a new rifle and we needed to shoot it, so we mounted her up. But someday that Conquest will be ready for a new rifle in my hands.

I will buy a conquest 4x if someone is selling! My long range hunting shots are non existent, 4x is overkill where I hunt
