That's a deal!

Lots of fake Leupolds on E-bay right now. I'd not touch it.

My thoughts, though according to some, the counterfeit is probably better.....

Seems like a legit seller, how can you tell? And it's 30 day returns

I believe it's legit or wouldn't have posted it. The seller has nearly 47,000 fedback ratings, has been a member since 2006, and in the past 12 months has about 10K positive ratings and only 24 negatives. If they were selling counterfeit it would probably be known by now.

I’d have to be paid more than 180 dollars to accept one of those things.

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

Yeah, miraculously I just killed another buck while peering through a VX-1 this past Saturday. One shot, one kill, hit right where I intended.. I know it's amazing considering what a POS it is. Course somehow I did manage to go hunting without dropping or throwing my rifle on the ground.

Wasn't there a post where Leupold is discontinuing the VX1 and VX2? If this is true, this is probably a scope made of spare parts. Nothing wrong with them, just not what we've been accustom to, from Leupold.

Last year, I bought a brand new, still sealed in the box, VX2 4-12x40 w/AO, and the power adjustment ring had 3-9 on it. Sent it back and they installed the correct adjustment ring.

Good price, but their quality has certainly suffered the last few years.

In late 2011 Leupold was heavily discounting the entire line of VX scopes. In early 2012 they started selling upgraded versions of all of them. Unlike previous upgrades they didn't change the name. Remember we used to have Varix-I, Varix-II, etc. They they went to VX-I, VX-II, and VX-III and now VX-1, VX-2, and VX-3. A 2012 production VX-1 has click adjustments and improved optics making it the same scope as a 2011 or older VX-2.

I suppose they could be doing something similar again if they are discontinuing the VX-1 and VX-2. But I'd think we'd be seeing discounts everywhere. Not just from a single seller on e-bay. That scope is still $300 elsewhere.

If I were looking for a sub $200 scope I'd buy this rather than take a chance on a counterfeit Leupold. I'm not sure it isn't a better scope anyway.

SockPuppet: Thanks for the heads up - says 313 sold so far and no negative feedback (as in this is a counterfeit etc).

According to an email I got directly from the seller, they are 100% authentic and bought directly from Leupold. Not gonna get a better scope for the money imo.

If they are authentic, then that is a great deal.

I wonder what's coming down the pike to replace them, cause it sounds like it may be a discontinued item sale.

Clearly the VeeEx-One and VeeEx-Two are next in the naming system for Leupold. 😜
