I have Talley bases & screw lock detachable lows on Kimber Montana's in 7mm-08, 325 WSM, and 338 Win mag. I have the same on my M70's.

I have Talley Lightweights on most of my rifles.

I am not sure. Talley may have the information on their website. If not, I would call them. Very friendly and helpful folks in my experience.

Now that was fun to look at. Informative too. Thanks.

I have Talley Lightweights on all my Montana's,except my latest. I went with Talley steel base/rings. I wanted to add weight to the rifle.

What’s the actual outer diameter? Should be somewhere in the 44-48mm range depending on the scope. (On most manufacturers websites)

What are you using for scope base and ring setup on the Kimber 84L?
I have used both Talley Lightweight (Lows) or Burris Zee Rings (Low) / Warne Weaver Bases when I wanted a bit more weight in the rifle.

Calipers are a wonderful tool!!!
Talley Lightweight Mediums for sure... you could buy lows if you are feeling brave =]
I always have trouble with scope position on long actions and 2 piece base setups. you might go with mediums just to give you a little more latitude without having to worry about the bell hitting the base on the talleys.
or I'd go with a warne 2 pc base (the lowest I think you can buy) and then any rings you want that are .25" or greater from the top of the base to the bottom of the scope tube.

I appreciate your advise but it doesn't satisfy my question. Is the 84M and 84L taking the same base?
Thanks Jim
