Anybody got any info or experience with the new Barnes LRX Long-Range Hunting Bullets 284 Caliber, 7mm .284 39 Grain LRX Boat Tail bullets? There already is the 145 grain LRX bullet for the .284 caliber so I'm not sure what is the advantage of 139 grain vs 145 grain in the same model line design/caliber. Anybody tried the bullet out of 7mm Rem Mag or 7mm-08?

They made it for factory ammo, then decided to release it as a component also.
Not sure what the advantage would be besides slightly higher velocity. BC is lower than the 145

I’ve shot some 145s out of both the 7mm Rem, and the 7mm/08.
I could run them at 3200+ out of a 23” barreled 7 Mag with both RE26 and RE23. Accuracy is still a bit spotty, but shows potential. The BC seems to be higher than the listed .486.... I shot several out to 600, and the BC worked out to about .530.
My 7/08 didn’t like them....
You better pray to the God of Skinny Punks that this wind doesn't pick up......

nope, they made it for the 7mm mag factory loads. No clue why they didn't just use what they had, the 145. Then people saw that and requested it as a component.

Well I don't know the answer either but I have been unable to get leas than MOA in either 7-08 or 280 rem with the 145. I read somewhere that reloaders were seating past the ogave to get it deep enough to fit magazines.

Twist rate might be an issue as well with the 145's. Barnes doesn't list a suggested twist for that one, but I'm betting it likes 9 a whole lot more than 10 or slower.
