I had thousands of them over my goose spread and in a moment of boredom I shot randomly up in the sky and six dropped all around me. Felt guilty and that I should bake them in a pie or something but they were flaring the geese.

Jeeetem? That's Texan for did you eat them?

I would now as I have had luscious song bird catchatorie and other odd dishes from unlikely sources.

In the rice fields south of here they have to set up CO2 canons to keep those Btards away.

Grackles, natures synonym to learoy, djs, northman, nebassman....

I would set the timer to 30 min before dark.

We used to have several feral cats around the feeder hunting, but they have mostly disappeared.
John Knapp told me that he was a much better shot than brother Tom.

Common Grackles.

Call Tom Knapp and Benelli.

From a life long birder - they appear to be Common Grackles.

Edit: I didn't know that Tom Knapp died, I remember seeing his exhibition when I was a kid.

Tom Knapp did a lot for the Benelli brand. He could shoot a 22 rifle also.

A lot of folks eat those birds. You must not have many Cajuns or Black people around.

Best thing to happen to us was some of the coonA$$es that moved in after Katrina. Food around here improved. Tom Knapp has passed away. John lives on Horse Thief Creek out of Roundup, Montana.

Great picture. It does look like a target rich environment however for a kid with a pellet gun. Mom wanted a cat, so to make the best of the situation we never bought that little varmint any cat food because my .20 Sheridan and I kept her fed with breast of blackbird every day. Visiting conservationists to the house liked seeing the bird feeder outside my bedroom window. Little did they know.
